Excitement builds for the Final Paralympics Qualifier in China

Eight men’s teams and seven women’s teams have confirmed their participation for the 2024 World ParaVolley Final Paralympics Qualifier in the enchanting city of Dali, China.

Nestled in the picturesque landscapes of southwestern China, Dali adds a captivating backdrop to the sporting event.

The men’s event comprises Canada, China, Croatia, Iraq, Japan, Poland, Ukraine and the United States, while the women’s event consists of Germany, Iran, Japan, Mongolia, Slovenia, Thailand and Ukraine.

The competition takes place from April 3-10 and follows a single round-robin system, culminating in a final match between the two highest-ranked teams after the preliminary round.

This tournament serves as the last-chance qualifying opportunity for men’s and women’s teams aiming for a spot in the Paris 2024 Paralympics.

World ParaVolley is currently engaged in discussions with the host nation, China, concerning arrangements for the matches of the women’s team, which have already secured qualification for Paris 2024.

The victorious teams will join the prestigious ranks of men’s teams from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Egypt, France, Germany, Iran, and Kazakhstan, as well as women’s teams from Brazil, Canada, China, France, Italy, Rwanda, and the United States.

In the previous edition of the Final Paralympics qualifiers, Germany and Canada secured victories in the men’s tournament in Duisburg, Germany, and women’s tournament in Halifax, Canada, respectively, showcasing the power of home advantage.

As teams converge in Dali, the stage is set for an unforgettable sporting spectacle where athleticism meets the awe-inspiring landscapes of southwestern China.
