  • PVSAS refers to the World ParaVolley Sport Administration System.

It refers to third-party companies or individuals employed by the Company to facilitate the Service, to provide the Service on behalf of the Company, to perform services related to the Service or to assist the Company in analyzing how the Service is used.
  • Usage Data refers to data collected automatically, either generated by the use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself (for example, the duration of a page visit).
  • Website refers to the World ParaVolley website accessible from https://www.worldparavolley.org, and its subdomains:

 2 COLLECTING AND USING YOUR PERSONAL DATA

The Company will collect and use data for a range of purposes. These purposes, and the legal basis upon which the Company will collect and use that data, are explained in the attached Table.

2.1 Types of Data Collected
2.1.1 Personal Data

While using Our Service, We may ask You to provide Us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify You. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to:

  • Email address
  • First name and last name
  • Phone number
  • Demographic data including age, gender and location

For the purpose of classification and participation at World ParaVolley sanctioned and approved competitions, the ParaVolley Sport Administration System (PVSAS) stores Personal Data and medical information of the athletes considered to be Sensitive Personal Data which is provided by the athletes and their World ParaVolley National Member Organization.

For the purpose of athlete classification, We may ask You to provide Us with sensitive medical information in addition to the above, such as, but not limited to:

  • Passport data – for identification and verification of date of birth
  • Medical information
    • Medical history
    • Results of medical investigations and interventions
    • Medications
    • History of adverse events
  • Classification historical information

Authenticated users of the World ParaVolley National Member Organizations register and update their own Nation’s athletes’ information in PVSAS.

2.1.2 Usage Data

Usage Data is collected automatically when using the Service.

Usage Data may include information such as Your Device’s Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of Our Service that You visit, the time and date of Your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.

When You access the Service by or through a mobile device, We may collect certain information automatically, including, but not limited to, the type of mobile device You use, Your mobile device unique ID, the IP address of Your mobile device, Your mobile operating system, the type of mobile Internet browser You use, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.

We may also collect information that Your browser sends whenever You visit Our Service or when You access the Service by or through a mobile device.

Usage Data is not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users’ movement on the Service, and gathering demographic information.

 2.2 Use of Your Personal Data

The Company may use Personal Data for the following purposes:

  • To provide and maintain Our Service, including to monitor the usage of Our Service.
  • To manage Your Account: to manage Your registration as a user of the Service. The Personal Data You provide can give You access to different functionalities of the Service that are available to You as a registered user.

  • To provide You with news, special offers and general information about other goods, services and events which We offer that are similar to those that You have already purchased or enquired about unless You have opted not to receive such information.
  • To manage Your requests: To attend and manage Your requests to Us.
  • For other purposes: We may use Your information for other purposes, such as data analysis, identifying usage trends, determining the effectiveness of Our promotional campaigns and to evaluate and improve Our Service, products, services, marketing, and Your experience.
2.2.1 Use of Your Medical Data as related to Classification

The Company may use Medical Data for the following purposes:

  • For the organisation of Our events: The medical information of athletes is required to prepare for paravolley events including but not limited to the Paralympic Games, World Championships or Zonal Championships. This includes the identification of the athlete, medical information to support the presence of an underlying health condition and eligible impairment, and the outcome of their classification to confirm their eligibility, to prepare the competition schedules and team lists, and to run the competitions. Athletes’ classifications are stored in PVSAS to validate the eligibility of athletes for future competitions.
  • For historical purposes: As the global governing body of the sport of paravolley, We have the obligation to store the history of paravolley. General classification data is used for historical purposes. Sensitive medical information is not use for historical purposes.
  • For analysis or research: Classification data may be used for the purpose of analysis or research to support improvement and growth of the sport of paravolley. Any Personal or sensitive medical information used for this purpose will be anonymised and will not be used without the expressed consent of the athlete.

Within World ParaVolley, access to the medical information of athletes is granted only to those departments or individuals requiring access to such data in order to fulfil their duties in organising classification and paravolley competitions.

2.3 Sharing of Your Personal Data

We may share Your Personal information in the following situations:

  • With Service Providers: We may share Your Personal information with Service Providers to monitor and analyze the use of Our Service, to contact You.
  • For business transfers: We may share or transfer Your Personal information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of Company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of Our business to another company.
  • With Partners: We may share Your information with Our Partners, in which case We will require those Partners to honour this Privacy Policy.
  • With other users: when You share Personal information or otherwise interact in the public areas with other users, such information may be viewed by all users and may be publicly distributed outside.
  • With Your consent: We may disclose Your Personal information for any other purpose with Your consent.
  • Some Personal Information and Classification outcome information is included on a Master Classification List that must be made available to the National Member Organizations of World ParaVolley, relevant National Paralympic Committees, and the IPC as per the IPC Classification Code Articles 9.1. and 9.2.

NOTE: We will not share Your medical information in the above situations.

We will not use or share Your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.

We will never sell Your Personal Data.

We use Your Personal Data for providing and improving the Service. By using the Service, You agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
