Kazakhstan open campaign with match sweep

Bangkok, Thailand, June 10, 2019 – Kazakhstan swept Japan in their opening day encounter in the men’s tournament of the 2019 ParaVolley Asia Oceania Sitting Volleyball Championships at the Huamark Indoor Stadium on Monday.

Kazakhstan utilised their strength in block early in the match, limiting Japan on the attack. The Kazakh side built their lead on their defence then came up with strong hits that gave them big leads the first and second set victories at 25-13 and 25-14, respectively.

With the intimidating presence of Alexandr Demeuov in the Kazakh frontline, the Japanese defenders were subjected to his towering hits that helped in their first two set wins.

In the third set, the Japanese showed better hustle on offence and defence that gave them the upper hand for the first time in the match. However, the Kazakh side rallied back to win the set 25-20.
