Bangkok, Thailand, June 10, 2019 – Iran came up with their second win of the day, following their 3-0 (25-11, 25-8, 25-5) win over hosts Thailand men’s tournament of the 2019 ParaVolley Asia Oceania Sitting Volleyball Championships at the Huamark Indoor Stadium on Monday.
Iran dictated the tempo in the first set by executing an effective game plan that involved Morteza Mehrzadselakjani on offence, firing strong spikes against the Thai blockers. The reigning world champions succeeded in taking the win in the first set at 25-11.
The Iranians continued with their dominance over their Southeast Asian counterparts as they fired bullet spikes from both sides. Their defence likewise was on point, enabling them to establish a better counter-attack system that gave them an easy win the second set.
By the third set, Iran showed no signs of slowing down and built a bigger lead than the previous two sets. An illegal attack by Thailand concluded the set and match at 25-5.
