As a professional International Sports Federation, World ParaVolley has an ongoing responsibility to provide educational opportunities to its stakeholder groups.  This education can be for technical officials, for athletes, for member Federation personnel, or for a more general audience that is interested in finding out more about the sport of paravolley.

In the past, most education has taken place in person at World ParaVolley or Zonal events.  More recently, some WPV Zones have been providing information webinars on various subjects, and in mid-2021 WPV will be launching E-ParaVolley, our online education platform!

Please check back with this page often for news and updates on upcoming webinars and e-learning opportunities.

WPV piloted the E-ParaVolley online LMS platform in mid-2021 with two courses:  Level 1 Classification and Level 2 Coaching.  World ParaVolley continues to create more e-learning content.  Head on over and check it out!

Webinars

World ParaVolley has put together a Virtual ParaVolley Webinar Series to offer presentations that are of interest to our membership.  We have reached out to all our stakeholders to collect some suggestions on possible webinar topics and potential speakers.

These would be topics that could be presented in 90 to 120-minute sessions and would be offered in different time zones to increase accessibility.

Technical training

World ParaVolley has devised an education and training pathway for technical officials that provides them with the necessary skills, knowledge, and experience to undertake their roles at the highest possible standard. World ParaVolley places a high priority on developing its human resources in order to provide the necessary services for the sport of paravolley.

World ParaVolley offers formal training in the following four technical areas:

  • Coaching
  • Classification
  • Refereeing
  • International Technical Officials (Jury, Technical Delegate)

Each of the above areas has a three-level certification pathway through which participants acquire certain skill sets designed to serve the sport of paravolley in various ways.

Each level and type of course can include any combination of the following activities:

  • Theory component
  • Practical component
  • Face-to-face component
  • Mentoring

Hosting a World ParaVolley Training Course

A World ParaVolley member organization (National Paralympic Committee or National Federation) may request to host a Course in partnership with World ParaVolley.  World ParaVolley will work with the hosts to provide program material, certified Educators and support.

Requests to host a course should be sent to World ParaVolley at least SIX (6) MONTHS prior to the course date.

World ParaVolley will always aim to facilitate the World ParaVolley member organization requests but cannot guarantee that all requests can be met.
