China overcome shaky start to sweep Kazakhstan

Bangkok, Thailand, June 13, 2019 – China overcame a shaky start to claim their fourth win in the men’s tournament of the 2019 ParaVolley Asia Oceania Sitting Volleyball Championships with a sweep of Kazakhstan at the Huamark Indoor Stadium on Thursday.

The first set saw a great comeback from China after trailing Kazakhstan throughout the set. At the score of 23-all, a drop shot gave China the upper hand to reach set point, but Kazakhstan managed to regain their composure and scored two straight points. After a couple of deadlocks, China finally scored the two-point edge after a spike from captain Ding Xiao Chao and a double touch violation from the Kazakh setter 28-26.

China carried over their momentum into the second set and mounted a comfortable cushion against their rivals. Two strong swings by Wang Qiang from the left flank secured China’s second set victory at 25-14.

China maintained their intensity in the third set by implementing a strong attack system against Kazakhstan. The East Asian side prevented their rivals to make any significant run, allowing them to take the match in straight sets at 25-15.
