John Kessel (USA)

John has been coaching and developing volleyball at the highest levels, and beginning level programs since his first college coaching job in 1971. His Paralympic development began in 1995, and he was producer for the sitting volleyball venue in the Atlanta Games in 1996 and has tournament directed sitting volleyball for the last six Wounded Warrior Games in the USA. He has taught clinics in over 50 countries, and has been an FIVB Coaches Instructor and USA Volleyball CAP Level V instructor since 1988. He worked in various capacities in every summer Olympics or Paralympics since 1984, and was inducted into the American Volleyball Coaches Hall of Fame in 2013. In 1995, Volleyball Magazine named him one of the 50 most important volleyball people in the world in the the sport’s first 100 years.
